Color Atlas of the Autopsy

This is the first full color atlas to show the basics of autopsy and how it is used in death investigation. Different from other atlases, which concentrate on specific injury topics, this book focuses on autopsy protocol. Over five hundred photographs take the reader through all the elements of the procedure, beginning with the external examination, which determines what to look for internally. Chapters on microscopic examination, toxicology, and other kinds of clinical chemistry reveal how these studies show more than gross dissection. The final chapter assesses the findings of the cases used in the book and interprets the cause and manner of death of each subject.
